Dr. Sharon Lamm-Hartman

Dr. Sharon Lamm-Hartman is Founder and CEO of Inside Out Learning, Inc. (IOL), an award‐winning global leadership, team and organization development consulting business. “Dr. Sharon” and IOL are active members of the Women’s President’s Organization (WPO). Only 3% of women-owned businesses gross the required revenue to qualify for WPO membership. IOL is certified with Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and Women Owned Small Business (WOSB). In addition to running IOL, Dr. Sharon is a global executive and presentation skills coach, leadership and organization development consultant, speaker, writer, educator, wife and mom. 

With over 25 years of global experience, Sharon has worked across the United States and Europe as well as Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Thailand for clients such as American Express, Virgin Orbit, GE’s Leadership Development Center, ExxonMobil, E*TRADE, ARCO Chemical, AstraZeneca, Fannie Mae, Arizona Society of CPA’s, Volvo, and the National Reconnaissance Office. She has designed and delivered over 3,000 innovative programs, including many women’s development and executive presence and presentation skills programs. Dr. Sharon has coached thousands of CEO’s, executives, educators, professionals, and entrepreneurs worldwide. She’s created and facilitated several TTT programs building a culture of leaders teaching leaders at her clients. 

 For the past 19 years, Dr. Sharon served as a preferred executive coach for hundreds of Boeing Vice Presidents and Executives with exceptional results, including promotions, developmental job assignments, and saving E‐Series. She has personally designed and is teaching the Authentic Presence and Presentation Skills Programs, and team development programs to thousands of Boeing employees. Up to 80% of employees who participate in these programs achieve a promotion. Sharon also has her Top Secret Security Clearance and helps executive clients, program teams and customer relationships in classified environments. 

She was the co‐founder and first Director of Central Phoenix Women, a networking organization for women leaders, and wrote a regular column for Phoenix Woman Magazine. Dr. Sharon holds a doctorate from Columbia University in Leadership and Organization Development, a Masters in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University, and two Bachelor degrees. She also has several coaching and assessment certifications. 

Dr. Sharon has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Leadership at Columbia University and as an Adjunct Faculty member at The Center for Creative Leadership. 

Dr. Sharon has been quoted on her views of coaching in numerous publications including, The New York Times, Forbes, and Oprah’s magazine, 'O' magazine. She has been honored and received awards from the Center for Creative Leadership and the Academy of Human Resource Development for her work and research on how to facilitate transformation in leadership development programs.

James Hartman

Managing Director

James Hartman (He/Him) is a Managing Director with Inside-Out Learning, Inc. (IOL).

James has over 20 years of experience as a sales professional at The Vanguard Group, Morgan Stanley Investment Management, and Charles Schwab, where his role was to manage and develop new client relationships resulting in millions of dollars in new business. He understands the importance of authenticity and executive presence when communicating with an audience.

James brings his experience presenting to clients, prospects, corporate boards as well as larger industry organizations to IOL.  James has held various leadership roles, from being President of his Toastmaster’s Club to serving on the board of Seacrest Investment Management. He is also very involved in Boy Scouts of America and his community through the YMCA and Desert Foothills Foodbank.

In his business development role with Inside-Out Learning, James manages corporate communication and marketing strategies to develop new client relationships. As a video reviewer James shares his unique insights as a public speaker obtained as a sales professional and member of Toastmasters.

James has a BS in Management from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in financial management from Drexel University. He is passionate about helping others express their authenticity.

James lives in Cave Creek, AZ with his amazing wife, son and a variety of domesticated and wild animals (teenager not included).

Kaela Petty (she/her), Manager of Learning, Technology & Marketing, is a skilled and detail-oriented member of the Inside-Out Learning team. She is passionate about creative problem-solving and strives to develop efficient processes while maintaining a high level of excellence.

As the learning, technology, and marketing manager, she brings 10 years of instructional design experience, including the design, development, and management of over a dozen online courses.

Kaela received her B.A. in English from Duke University and joined the AmeriCorps program, Teach For America, in 2012.

Working hard behind the scenes, LaRay not only creates materials for in-person and online training, but also produces virtual workshop sessions and webinars. LaRay has worked as a freelance graphic designer for over 25 years. In 2020, with the onset of Covid-19, she quickly stepped into the role of virtual producer to help her partners transition for in-person to online training and enjoyed seeing the content in action.

Work-life balance is one of LaRay’s passions. To help others gain more balance in their lives, LaRay has donated her time by created countless logos for women entrepreneurs starting up a side business from their homes.

Earning a BA in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations from Brigham Young University, LaRay has used her background to create materials that are not only visually stunning, but also create a clear and compelling call-to-action for the reader.

Leo is an award-winning virtual trainer and work-from-home veteran.

From a newspaper editor to a virtual corporate trainer, Leo brings his design expertise to any project. He has partnered with a diverse set of industries, including pharmaceutical companies, engine manufacturers, and non-profits.

He has a master’s in digital storytelling. He is passionate about sharing his story as a trans person to help change the world. He has been published in the Huffington Post, Gannett newspapers, and Slate.

Leo recently launched his inclusivity training business, Empathy By Design, that focuses on all-gender and LGBTQ+ training.

Sherrie retired from the Boeing Company, with almost 33 years of service, as a Senior Manager with Boeing Test & Evaluation in September 2021.  She has extensive knowledge and experience in Satellite Integration and Test, Project Management, Line Management, Strategic Planning, and Leadership Development.  In her last role with Boeing, she was accountable for satellite test program integration and execution (quality, cost, and schedule), test leadership and project management excellence, overall lab excellence (quality and safety), and leadership development.

Mark Spiwak is a Senior Consultant with SCI Access at Inside-Out Learning (IOL).

Mark retired from the Boeing Company, with almost 33 years of service, as President of Boeing Satellite Systems International, Inc. and Vice President of Commercial Satellite Systems at the end of 2017.

He has over three decades of business and engineering leadership experience supporting global commercial and government customers. Mark is a transformational leader and facilitator who has been involved with and led organizational re-alignments and helped customers significantly improve their business performance. Mark is passionate about mentoring and developing strong personal and professional relationships. He also served on the Board of TreePeople, a non-profit leader in environmental change.

Mark is also a Board member of KenCast, a secure broadcasting company specializing in secure content delivery utilizing patented Forward Error Correction (FEC) capabilities.

Spiwak received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Dayton, and an M.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Southern California.

With over 20 years of experience in training as a Professor and a Dean in academia, and for nearly 14 years in the Boeing company she has gain extensive experience in both training executives and leading large organizations. She has trained executives and trainers for large aviation companies all over the world in the last 34 years. She believes in effective assessment of the needs and learning style of the trainees, clarity in objectives and material presented, skills in leading discussion, listening effectively and having emotional intelligence to keep the trainees engaged and interested. In 2006, Fariba was recruited by Boeing from Cranfield University in the UK where she served as the Chair of Department of Air Transport, and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Manufacturing and Science where she taught and mentored many of the industry executives of today.

In writing this book Richard incorporated his years of experience working in various fields developing and marketing intellectual capital. He has just finished a new research report about how the leading corporations are developing their next generation of leaders. The white paper came out January 2019 called five Truths and a Lie. Richard founded the Real Learning Company and served as its President and CEO over 20 years ago where he focused his energy on the development of new breakthrough learning systems and the company’s development of provocative thought leadership in the sales, management, and leadership areas.  

 

Richard has led his team in developing new learning programs for clients such as American Express, Bristol-Myers Squib, DaimlerChrysler, Lexus, Nokia, Symantec, Time Warner, Toyota, University of Phoenix and UPS. Richard’s career has taken him across industries and all levels of management and leadership. His early career was spent with AT&T and Occidental Petroleum. Richard then entered the business software arena and held various executive level positions with leading organizations such as Foresight Systems, United Computing Systems and Execucom. During this period, Richard additionally sat as a director on a variety of boards around the United States. Prior to founding the Real Learning Company Richard worked with an elite team to acquire, reorganize, and turn around several software and hardware global organizations. Over the past several years Richard has become closely involved with several corporate leaders to help them drive strategic change.

Nicholas Jiles is a Corporate Trainer, Leadership Coach, International Speaker, and Air Force Retiree who has worked with Inside-Out Learning during the past year. He is an exceptional facilitator and coach of IOL’s Authenticity Code program. 

Prior to joining IOL, during his military and civilian career, he has had the opportunity to garner thousands of hours in classroom, military drill, field training instruction and facilitation. He has trained five newly inducted instructors in a train-the-trainer (TTT) program lasting a period of 90-days each which consisted of field facilitation, classroom instruction, and military operations training. He has also prepared 30 academic instructors in a two-week trainer program to teach students who arrived for military indoctrination. He was hand selected from a pool of 500 instructors to help build the train the trainer program to consolidate three different programs to maximize instructor effectiveness during manning shortages. As a Quality Assurance Manager, Nicholas was responsible for the upkeep of all training programs, product inspections, On-the-Job record review, as well as certifications. 

Nicholas has coached diverse teams to break through obstacles, improve communication, close the gap on workplace issues, and help individuals identify blind spots for self-improvement. As a facilitator, he has helped train over 500 managers of an oil company to increase leadership capabilities, awareness, and enhance relationships for a more effective workplace environment. As a volunteer trainer, Nicholas has provided 10 hours of leadership, supervising, and management training to the Catalyst Center formerly known as the Women’s Business Center.
